Participate!
We feel this is an excellent way to show patriotism, not only to your country but to Redmond as well. You can participate by buying a flag. However, putting up & taking down the flags is also a great experience!
Contact any of the committee members or any of the organizations listed below. Someone will be able to direct you on how you can help. Therefore flag acquisition, display and perpetual care for the life of the flags are now points we must address.

Good day Friends of Flag City USA,
For the past 33 years the Redmond Downtown Flag Committee meets in springtime and outlines those steps necessary to place over 1,700 full size American flags on our streets. I was elected in 2019 with a mandate to review the program and generate discussions for growth and potential improvements.
For the new faces; I hope that by meetings end you’ll find an appreciation for your fellow citizens and their supportive efforts for Flag City USA.
Reviewing the FCUSA’s history, it’s efforts and challenges is where we begin.
There’s a great deal to prepare for in the 2024 flag display season and the tasks ahead require sensibility, talent, and of course effort. I would invite you and those who want to contribute their knowledge and skills to attend.
On the calendar:
- A Financial report and perspectives from our Comptroller
- The growing CO Flag City USA communities
- Logistical flow of product (flags) and performance (from purchase to placement) and initiating a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) protocol.
- A flag trailer maintenance program (SOP)
- Trailer Driving and Route Skills training (SOP)
- Promoting public FC/USA awareness, Public relations and Maximizing network presence
- An American Flag education program (for students and adults)
- An overdue Recognition and Awards programs.
- A Central Coordinator (a key individual in the center of the action)
- FCUSA merch (flags, decals, hats, shirts etc.)… again, overdue.
- Establishing a relationship with Congressman Cliff Bentz for the continued receipt of flags
This will be a year to remember. America is divided politically in all areas except for the Flag of our Nation. Let’s participate and be a part of an All American action program. Honoring our Nations Flag and promoting American ideals could not be more important at this moment in history.
I look forward to your attendance and involvement.
PS. Remember the need for a skillful and trusted individual for the “Flag Order Master” and “Central Coordinator” …and a few more key positions.
Thanks.
